april-performance-report
It is the 1st of May and Bernard Boulevard’s forth monthly performance recap! The blog’s official launch was January 1st, 2016 and a very exciting day for me. I spent the majority of December 2015 preparing the site.  Instead of retelling the entire story of my blog’s birth, I’ve placed a link to the summary lower in this post. April Stats: 555 Views, 331 Visitors, 97 Likes, 54 Comments:
At 4 months old, we are beginning to see the foundation of my blog solidify. According to this month’s stats, Bernard Boulevard’s viewership has remained at a consistent level just 39 viewers shy of lasts months total. Compared to the month of March, Bernard Boulevard has seen a 16.2% decrease in overall page views and a 11.3% decrease in blog visitors. This translates to a 14.396% decrease in total traffic, as previously mentioned. Luckily, I know exactly what has caused this decrease in growth. During the month of April, I leaned towards developing a new business with my roommate, which I will get into more detail in a later post. In spending countless hours planning, training and traveling to conferences, I struggled with consistent blog publishing. As you begin to blog, you will find that this consistency plays a major roll in healthy blog growth! As always, I’m truly looking forward to seeing how much the blog grows in May, but to do so, that requires me to tighten my blogging schedule in order to allow me the proper time to produce content worth reading!

Special Thanks!!

As always, I’d like to conclude this post and start this month of May off right by thanking Bernard Boulevard’s greatest contributors. Tai Lopez of the 67 Steps, and John Lee Dumas of Entrepreneur on Fire have served as some of my greatest daily motivation but the inspiration does not stop there! I must contribute a ton of this month’s progress to my mentors who have continued to keep me on my toes everyday. Each rewards my day with a surplus of priceless knowledge!
As mentioned at the end of every post, the majority of my blog’s images come from the amazing photographers and users of Pixabay and I highly suggest that you go check them out! Also, I can’t forget to recognize my team. Without the help of my good friend Erin, editing would truly be a hassle! You can see exactly why on my former blog post (Click Here). I’d also like to thank my Graphic Designer, Leandis Patton, for putting together a beautiful logo for the blog! Feel free to visit Bernard Boulevard’s Facebook page to see some of his work!
For all of Bernard Boulevard’s new and returning visitors, I truly appreciate your time! Especially those of you who have supported our efforts by subscribing! Everyone that has followed and liked Bernard Boulevard and its blog posts are essential components to my daily drive. Each view, comment, and share make a huge difference in my blogging efforts by keeping me motivated!
I’d also like to once again thank a fellow blogger, Poet Rummager, for keeping me entertained with her brilliant knack for poetry along the way! If you love poetry, you should really go check out her blog!(Click Here)

43.125% Traffic Increase since January
February Stats: 458 Views, 233 Visitors, 71 Likes, 41 Comments:
For only being 2 months old, I feel as though my blog is making pretty decent progress. Compared to the month of Janurary, Bernard Boulevard has seen a 49.2% increase in overall page views. This translates to a 43.125% increase in total traffic, as previously mentioned. As always, I’m truly looking forward to see how much the blog grows in March!

The Birth of Bernard Boulevard

Bernard Boulevard, in a sense, was born in early December but was not released from the hospital until the 1st of January. Beforehand, I actually had just begun working on another site of mine, which was a complete failure. It took me only a day to create and looked pretty, but it lacked in a strong blogging foundation.  A major theme of Bernard Boulevard, that my other website lacked, is quality. My old website was rushed and did not have any form of planning, scheduling, or attractiveness to it. While working on the old site, the name Bernard Boulevard simply popped in my head! Bernard is my middle name, which is what gave rise to the thought. Other than that, I could not tell you anything else that would have influenced the blog’s name other than luck. I truly found the name appealing and more appropriate than naming the blog “traceymathis.com”. After coming to that realization, I wrote the blog name in the Notes app of my iPhone, not really sure of what I was even going to do with it. Since I liked the name so much, I decided to purchase the domain name through Namecheap while I would wait for ideas to pour in. The thought of actually creating a blog came to me while I was listening to John Lee Dumas speak on his podcast Entrepreneur on Fire, also known as EOFire!
The week of December 14th, 2015 was the week that Bernard Boulevard was finally put under construction. I spent the rest of December formatting the website and leaking out small bits of it to my Facebook profile in order to give its official January launch a boost in traffic from people waiting for the first blog post. It wasn’t long after building the blog that I started writing blog posts. I had a notebook with a ton of ideas and was able to come up with 7 blog posts that would be scheduled and ready to be post during the first week of 2016.
When January finally came around, it was time to place some of my focus on the marketing strategies in order to generate some form of traffic, even if it was a pea size amount. I’m going to make it clear that I did not purchase advertising for my blog during this month and do not plan on doing so until much later. I have created a few blog posts that go in depth on how exactly I approached building an audience. To be brief, I used word of mouth and social media to get the word out. Facebook provided me with a social media page for my blog that would show my blog’s updates while giving people the opportunity to like and share with their friends and followers. I applied the same process across Twitter, Google+ and Instagram while making sure to stay consistent throughout the entire process. In my opinion, scheduling posts in advance and actually sticking to a posting schedule helped solidify my blog’s foundation and allowed it to gain the exposure that it did.

Special Thanks!!

As always, I’d like to conclude this post and start the month off right by thanking Bernard Boulevard’s greatest contributors. For those of you wondering, Kristen Hadeed of Student Maid, Tai Lopez of the 67 Steps, and John Lee Dumas of Entrepreneur on Fire have served as some of my greatest daily motivation. They have broken boundaries in the world of business and have so much invaluable wisdom!
The majority of my blog’s images come from the amazing photographers of Pixabay and I highly suggest that you go check them out! On a more technical side, I feel as though editors do not receive the proper recognition that they deserve. Without the help of my good friend Erin, editing would truly be a hassle! You can see exactly why on my former blog post (Click Here). Lastly, I’d like to thank my Graphic Designer, Leandis Patton, for putting together a beautiful logo for the blog! Feel free to visit Bernard Boulevard’s Facebook page to see his work! I’d also like to make it known to all of my new and returning visitors of how much I appreciate your time. All of you that have subscribed, followed, and liked Bernard Boulevard and its blog posts are the reasons that I’m still working today! I’d also like to thank a fellow blogger and our most active subscriber, Poet Rummager, for keeping me inspired and supporting me along the way. Bernard Boulevard: January 2016 Performance Report

It is the 1st of February, but more importantly the beginning of Bernard Boulevard’s monthly performance recap! If you were unaware, my blog’s official launch was January 1st, 2016 and a very exciting day for me. I had spent the past month working on the site, but before we get into the detailed origins of the blog, here is a rundown of how we performed during the month of January!

So, looking at the stats above, I can personally say that I am pretty impressed. This was not my first blog so I had some knowledge of how things worked and how to draw in an audience, but I am by no means a “Pro Blogger”. I am very anxious to see how we perform in this month of February! For those who are wondering what techniques I used during this first month, you will be surprised to find that they actually are not that difficult and did not cost a dime. I will explain them in further detail below!

The Birth of Bernard Boulevard

Bernard Boulevard, in a sense, was born in early December but was not released from the hospital until the 1st of January. Before hand, I actually had just began working on another site of mine, which was a complete failure. Finally, I’d like to give a special thanks to all of my new and returning visitors.
