Cutting losses is another key element to every business owner’s lifestyle. It consists of optimizing performance by staying in touch with both reality and analytical. Without giving yourself constant critiques you could be wasting time and more importantly, money.
In order to begin to limit and cut down on your loss of time, money and unnecessary efforts, you need to first start by periodically asking yourself checkpoint questions. Consider the scenario of your business burning to the ground today do to natural causes. Would you take the time to rebuild it for the ground up? What you do things differently? Would you target a different and more specific demographic or target audience?
If you would make things changes, ask yourself why haven’t you. Questions that push you to really reconsider the current strength of your business will truly allow you to take steps for improvement. We all often suffer from settling and relaxing in complacency only until the moment that our business suffers a tough blow.
These blows are the forced reality checks. Do yourself a favor and take part in your own reality checks so that you can avoid future issues. If you find a leak in your boat, don’t wait for it to get worse! Go ahead and patch it up! If you feel that patching it up won’t solve the problem in the future, take the initiative to replace that segment or get an entirely new boat to continue to float upon. Don’t wait till the last moment. Once you get your feet wet through future analysis, you will have the ability to make decisions to provide a better future for both you and your business!
